Tires to Trails Project
Tires to Trails 5k will benefit T.O. Fuller
State Park, their Friends' Group, and their Run Club by raising awareness and
participation in collecting used tires to be recycled for a rubberized trail. This project will be a joint effort by many organizations in the community to take the problem of illegally dumped tires and create an environmentally friendly, flexible, porous pavement trail that will be open to the public. These photos represent the local tire dump sites we are working to clean up and how the rubber will be recycled.
This is a photo of the chipped tires that make up a portion of the flexible porous pavement.
This is a photo of the pavement being mixed and installed.
Final Product!
